Touch Panels from AL-KO VTE: The new freedom of control

Gone are the days when you had to search for an array of menu func-tions with a few push-buttons and confusing key combinations. The AL-KO VTE touch panels turn the screen into a keypad, allowing you to click directly on the function you need. With just a few clicks, you can access all submenus for immediate interaction with your vehicle.

The screens are divided into four segments. The information bars at the top and bottom display basic information. At the top: Date, time, and ac-tivity signals such as external power supply connection, the geolocation module is active, or the Wi-Fi connection to ONDA Connectivity is avail-able, and there is a separate button for system settings. At the bottom: There is an in and outdoor thermometer and alarms for such things as when the freshwater tank is below 15 percent of its capacity, the wastewater tank is above 85 percent, or the car battery is below the min-imum threshold. 

The central field on the left contains the most important living comfort functions, including the main light switch and options to activate the wa-ter pump, awning light, TV, and radio. Below, the two larger displays show two additional quick links to the vehicle battery and water tank widget. All other features are available via dedicated widgets arranged in the right-hand display area, which can be scrolled through using the ar-rows on the right. These indicate the status of the battery charger, the amount of solar power being produced by the PV system on the roof, control options for the heating or the fridge, indicators for the horizontal alignment of the vehicle, etc.

The number of features and functions that the ONDA Line touch panels can provide depend on the software, which will be continuously expand-ed and improved. AL-KO VTE is constantly working on new possibilities. This includes, for example, a dimmer function for all connected lights. A system update would be sufficient to make the new function appear as another widget. New functions from third-party device manufacturers can be integrated in the ONDA Connectivity System and made available in the very same way, making the panels ready for future applications.

The AL-KO VTE touch panels are permanently installed in the vehicle and connected to the onboard system by cable. The structure of the in-formation and the widgets used are the same as those you find in the ONDA App on your smartphone. Regardless of which device you use – ONDA Line touch panels or the ONDA App on your smartphone – the information and control functions have the same look and feel. This visu-al and functional consistency makes it easy for you to find your way around.

When connected to the ONDA Connectivity System, the ONDA Line touch panels are ready for use and provide all available functions and information. You also have the option of creating settings on the touch panels yourself, for example, by choosing the language or adjusting the time to adapt to your current location. The intensity of the backlight can also be selected and key tones can be activated. In the battery menu, you can note when you installed the service battery. The battery type and capacity can also be specified there, enabling the system to calculate the State of Charge and the State of Health of the service battery.

Recreation Vehicle manufacturers will be able to adapt the color scheme of the display and the logos to their needs, as well as change the presen-tation of their own corporate identity accordingly.
